Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following wars: WWII, Vietnam War. Contains photographs of the following military units: 3rd Armored Corps; 145th Aviation Battalion. General description of the collection: The Jasper J. Wilson photograph collection includes photos covering the service of Wilson from a 1st Lieutenant in the 8th Cavalry to the receiving of a Distinguished Service Medal at the Pentagon in 1967. In Europe there are photos of George S. Patton, Jr., President Harry S. Truman and Winston Churchill. The photos in this collection capture the highlights of his career as listed above. Unfortunately most of the photos are uncaptioned. The greater part of the collection reflect his service in Vietnam, 274 of the total, but show mostly natives, towns, villages and cultural activities of the people of Vietnam rather than the U.S. Army activities there. The few real military photos show Wilson as a colonel and Chief of Staff on the Staff of Major General John C.F. Tillson, III, commanding general of the 25th Division. The final photos of this collection are of a medal presentation by General Harold K. Johnson at the Pentagon in January 1967.
